FRENCH BULLDOG LOVE BLOG
A few months ago, Romeo developed a nasty hot spot on his left cheek. After a change in diet, a makeshift paper/duct tape cone of shame, and excessive vet bills, the stubborn hot spot finally healed after two months. The vet strongly urged me to take Romeo off any chicken, beef or lamb foods and limit him strictly to salmon, whitefish, duck or venison due to poultry allergies. I bought top of the line salmon dog food, stocked up on Wild Alaskan Salmon, salmon oil, sardines, and coconut oil for healthy skin and coat. But did I mention Romeo may in fact be the pickiest dog I have ever encountered? Fish every day—including his treats? He was not having it.
I tried a bunch of store-bought treats made of salmon, sweet potato, duck, venison—anything I could find that wasn’t made of chicken, beef, or lamb. But while Romeo was known for running to the treat jar at the sound of the clasp opening, he was beginning to turn his head the other way. That’s when I decided it was time to make my own.
French Bulldogs are known as the clowns of the dog world. I’m pretty sure they were put on this earth to fill our lives with endless laughter, love, snorts, snores and cuddles.
They wiggle their butts when we come home from work, they creepily stare at us as we indulge in our snacks, they follow us like a shadow around every corner, and they continuously make us laugh with their smiley faces and silly personalities.
After all, no day is a bad day when there’s a Frog Dog in your life. I mean, have you ever seen what happens when you put a Frenchie in a swing? If not, I strongly urge you to go find a Frenchie, find a swing and find out.
Orrrr you could just take a look at these 61 French Bulldogs swinging life away. Living in the moment. Enjoying the breeze. While some seem to be enjoying it more than others, all are off the charts on the cuteness meter.
So, let’s all take a break from our busy, boring lives and enjoy these French Bulldogs who have not a care in the world—except maybe, “push harder, human!”
The Frenchie community is back at it again in Washington Square Park, this time for a noble cause—spreading love for Breast Cancer Awareness. The event was organized by Polo Spreads Love, a company inspired by French Bulldog, Polo, who was born to spread love to those who need it most.
The dog park was filled with Frenchies dressed in pink to support the cause, while pet parents gathered to share stories, snap photos, and make new friends. Even local news Pix11 was there to capture the excitement.
Last Saturday, over 30 Frenchies and their obsessed Frenchie parents (myself, included) gathered in Washington Square Park in NYC for a butt-wagging snortfest that lasted til the sun went down. The weather was great, the dogs were smiling ear-to-ear, and the parents were filling every GB of their phones with snapshots and videos to document the entire event. So, how was it? Let's just say there was plenty of butt-sniffing.
